The new mobile game from The Pokemon Company has had a great start with many millions of dollars in bank for microtransactions.
The new Pokemon mobile game, Pokemon Masters, is making a lot of money with microtransactions. The free game won over $ 26 million during its first week to be among the highest-grossing Pokemon games of the first week.
According to SensorTower, who provided the data, only Pokemon Go ($ 56 million) earned more money than Pokemon Masters during its first week in the Pokemon mobile device franchise. Another important distinction that speaks of the incredible popularity of Pokemon Go is that its $ 56 million in revenue for microtransaction for the first week comes from just five markets, while Masters has launched in more than 60 locations.
In comparison, Pokemon Quest earned $ 3 million during its launch week; Pokémon: Magikarp Jump raised $ 1 million; and Pokemon Rumble Rush raised $ 300,000 during the first seven days.
According to SensorTower estimates, Japan was the largest Masters region in terms of gross revenue with $ 16 million. Almost $ 4.5 million comes from the United States, while revenues from micro-transactions in Hong Kong, Taiwan and France make up the rest of the five main Masters regions based on gross revenues. Another notable statistic is that 72 percent of microtransaction sales were made on iOS; 28 percent came from Google Play.
This rapid success for Masters is no surprise, since the game has reached 10 million downloads worldwide in just four days.
Pokémon Masters takes place in an island region called Pasio, where the famous Pokémon coaches and their partner Pokémon got together for a Pokémon Masters League tournament. Unlike most traditional Pokémon games, you can’t capture your Pokémon in Masters; rather, recruit other synchronization pairs and form teams with them to participate in three-on-three battles in real time.
If you have just started your adventure in Pasio, make sure you take a look at our summary of everything you need to know about Pokemon Masters. We have also broken down the Scout points and how to get them, as well as how to evolve and Mega Evolve Pokemon in the game.
